Client: Lynx Collective (IG: @lynx.ch)
Lynx is a young collective organizing parties and small indepentent art exhibitions in Zurich. I aspired to express the buzz and the creativity through a kinetic editing style and by projecting custom line animations, enhancing the hip feel.
And sometimes, the most simplest of motives, like a few young people painting and then raving together work the best.
Elementary particles are eternal. All the atoms in our body were once and will be parts of gigantic brightly shining celestial bodies.
Therefore, in the open fields that are our lives:
Everything is possible.
We are all made of stars.

“The song’s got quite a loose and summery but also inherently fun feel to it!”
“Let’s hire a rooftop pool in Basel and some models”
“Uh hmm… but something is missing…”
“Hell yeah, let’s sink the instruments!”
“Let’s sink the instruments!”
(silently sobbing) That poor, wonderful synth keyboard…

I wasn’t always so sure, wether or not I should direct this video. I thought, is it really necessary to give Donald Trump even more attention? But then I listened to the song, and with it’s electrifying and driving discorock-feel along with the idiotic lyrics, I was convinced with what they were trying to say.
Because we should not shut up about him, and we should never accept him (or people like him) as the status quo! The song and the video try to ridicule him (and other demagogues and populists) with his/their own weapons. There is, sadly, no point in reasoning with a bully. So we decided to embrace the primitive trashyness and have some fun! And boy did we have fun: We shot the main scenes on loation in the legendary Reitschule in Berne with an entire bus full of fans we drove in from Zurich. I then intercut it with six guerilla actions all around Zurich.

Opening with a mighty Icebear, as fearless as their photography, this documentation of an exhibition shows marvellous landscape photographs in striking black and white and the people and motivations behind them.
The sound of “Escape the Radiation” is bleak and melancholic. Through the inversion of colours, selective colours and high contrast grading I created a distinctive style throughout the video - in an attempt to capture the nature of their sound visually.
Shot on Location in an old celluloid factory in Solothurn and the UNESCO World Nature Heritage Ruinalta, where I flew a 4K drone to get those scenic shots!
Client: The Birthday Girls
“The Birthday Girls” create a rock-disco hybrid sound expressed in the artwork of their new album “Disco Fragile” and ultimately in this video through layerings of hands, a disco balls and some dramatic rock-epic slowmotion.

When Anne Rüffer showed me the images of the exhibition, as she approached me to Co-Direct and shoot this short interview series, I was stunned by the unparalelled and honest power of these portraits.
I utilized the gorgeous Voigtlander Lenses to create a sense of intimacy while the viewer gets in touch with the subject of dying.

Shooting a motion picture Trailer for a novel is a strange feit. You wan’t to show elements of the story of the book while keeping it abstract enough so you don’t spoil the viewer (and potential reader) with images of things that are theirs to imagine.
We ended up with the expressive voice of the author Karl, narrating a few brief text excerpts illustrated with the childs journey and it’s companion - a piece of wood.

For two and a half hours the entire Zurich Zoo was open to the public for free, to grant amazing sights of animals to the people who normally couldn’t afford such a visit. The Swiss Red Cross hired me as a videograher to document this event.
Life is short. So let it take you on a rollercoaster in this personal documentary about love, death and carpe diem told in found-footage and narration.
We enjoyed a beautiful evening with lush sunlight over the industrial vibe of Zurichs districts 4 and 5 when we shot with @claudinecraig !
